CFD Direct announces the release of version 14 of CFD Direct From the Cloud™ (CFDDFC®). CFDDFC is a cloud platform for CFD running OpenFOAM and supporting software. It available as a pay-as-you-go images for Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. Users access OpenFOAM in a full graphical environment via a secure remote desktop through a web browser, as shown below.
CFD Direct From the Cloud™
CFDDFC includes:
- OpenFOAM v14 released by the OpenFOAM Foundation, produced and maintained by CFD Direct;
- ParaView v5.11.2 for data visualization;
- OpenMPI v4.1.7 with support for Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) for HPC workloads;
- FreeCAD v0.21.2 parametric 3D CAD modeler (Web CFDDFC only);
- … running on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS GNU/Linux operating system.
CFDDFC is available in two forms:
- Web CFDDFC, for compute and HPC instances with x86 processors (Intel and AMD);
- CFDDFC (Arm) for compute and HPC instances with Arm-based (Graviton) processors.
