On-site OpenFOAM Training
We provide training on all aspects of OpenFOAM: general operation, programming, the underlying technology and good practice. Our training in “hands-on”, with participants running OpenFOAM on a cloud computer, through a remote desktop accessed through a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc). While one company hosts the training, other participants can be invited from partner organisations to share the experience and reduce costs.
Our tried and tested process of planning, managing and delivering on-site training works as follows.
- You identify a group (typically 6 people or more) that can benefit from OpenFOAM CFD training.
- Find a venue (classroom, meeting room) to host the training: generally you would do that, but we can assist if necessary.
- Decide on course content: between us, we select relevant topics from our course catalogue, to suit the group.
- Timings: typically 3-5 days depending on the course content; we agree some provisional dates for delivery.
- Book the course: we provide a quotation; once you issue a purchase order for the training, we finalise the dates.
- Internet access: test internet connectivity to the remote desktops; participants then only need a laptop and internet access.
- Course materials: we organise printing of course materials and delivery to your site; typically, 80-100 pages per day of training.
- Delivery: our trainer (Chris Greenshields, Aidan Wimshurst) comes on-site to deliver the training on the chosen dates. That’s it!
Our Experience

Benefits of On-Site Training
- Reduced costs: local room hire and internet access, no physical computer hardware required.
- Large groups: maximise attendance, providing the opportunity for greater participation.
- Face-to-face: better engagement with an instructor on-site rather than online via video-conferencing.
